Red Light Variety Show - Theater Poster
As a fan of this extremely fun Burlesque troupe it was an honor to be asked to be one of the very first local artists to create a poster for their December 2017, J’adore show. I started off in a completely different direction, as many of the performers are strong independent females I wanted to portray that vibe with a strong female character, however further into the process it became evident that the show was more about an throwback and nostalgic look at where the art of burlesque came from. It was back to the drawing board and I have to say it was for the best. The classic fan girl that I came up with perfectly encapsulated the show.
Hey V Kay - Band Poster
Created apocalypse surviving hipsters for the band Hey V Kay's new album. The band Hey V Kay approached me about creating a poster for their new album. We discussed the idea of creating a pack of hipsters at the end of the world / the apocalypse. The idea was a fun and new way for me to play with a subculture that I truly enjoy observing in the real world. And putting these apocalypse hipsters into an environment where they might just use bazookas, swords and shotguns was an exciting challenge.
Below you will find a few of my very rough sketches that turned into more refined sketches that were finally digitized and placed into a backdrop on the edge of chaos. Enjoy!
